Good afternoon, on behalf of the UIC CHANCE Program I would like to share the following opportunity with your students.

The CHANCE Program is looking for highly motivated and bright individuals who can assist with tutoring high school students. Special consideration will apply for students available to tutor in the following subjects: English / Composition, French, Mandarin, and Spanish.

About the position
The University of Illinois at Chicago - CHANCE Program has partnered with JP Morgan CHASE The Fellowship Initiative (TFI) to provide tutoring services for 40 African American and Latino males. This is the fifth year of our partnership and the first of its kind between these two organizations.

As partners of the TFI Program, CHANCE supports the fellows through academic tutoring and serving as an on-campus host. The tutoring position provides fellows with group tutoring and one-on-on assistance. Peer tutors are expected to increase student understanding of material and promote development of proficiency required for fellows’ high school completion and success in their post-secondary goals.

What are we looking for in a tutor?
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly personality
• Demonstrated academic success in tutoring subject areas
• Ability to personalize lessons for each student • Punctuality
• High School level of proficiency and above

Tutors of all work experience levels are invited to apply.

Primary location: University of Illinois at Chicago Campus
Duration: Select Saturdays, Current to June 8, 2019
Available Shifts: 11AM-12PM, 3PM-5PM
