Where can I find the Department of Linguistics
The department of Linguistics is physically located on the 15th floor of the University Hall. Once you exit the elevator, walk down the hallway and you will see a red bulletin board with hand-drawn cherry blossom--you've found the Department of Linguistics. :)
In the COVID 19 Pandemic, the UH building is closed for access. Please contact the Department Head any time and she will respond to you within 48 hours. We look forward to meeting in person once we are safely out of the Pandemic.
Where do I go for advising?
If you are in the College of LAS, for advising and declaring a Minor in Chinese or Linguistics, please contact the undergraduate advisor for the department. For course advising, please contact the current Director of Undergraduate Studies for Linguistics and Chinese.
If you have already met the advisor or Director of Undergraduate Studies previously and just wanted to process the minor paperwork, you can submit the minor declaration form online.
(You are strongly advised to meet with an advisor first before declaring the minor so that we can meet and devise a plan together for the optimal process and your success!)
