Alondra Flores Joins the Data Science For Social Impact (DSSI) Summer Experience Program
CS+Linguistics student Alondra Flores has been selected to join the Data Science for Social Impact (DSSI) Summer Experience program. The DSSI Summer Experience is an immersive 8-week paid summer research program at the University of Chicago. After two weeks of intensive coursework, students hone their data science skills in research methodologies, practices, and teamwork while learning how to engage on a real-world data science problem. This summer's research theme will be natural language processing (NLP) and will focus on applications of language models to social impact problems from various areas, such as climate, health, policy, environment, and financial inclusion. Congratulations, Alondra!
