Alumna Spotlight: Tamaya Levy Co-Authors Chapter on Equity in Linguistics
We are thrilled to celebrate the accomplishments of Tamaya Levy an alumna of our Minor in Linguistics program, who has co-authored a chapter in the book Inclusion in Linguistics (Oxford University Press, 2024). Alongside Iara Mantenuto, Stephanie Reyes, and Zhongyin Zhang, Tamaya contributed to the chapter titled Increasing Access and Equity for First-Generation Scholars in Linguistics, which explores strategies to support and empower first-generation students in the field.
This impactful work, edited by Anne H. Charity Hudley, Christine Mallinson, and Mary Bucholtz, highlights the importance of fostering inclusion and addressing barriers in linguistics. Congratulations to Tamaya on this remarkable achievement and her commitment to advancing equity in academia!
