Natural language syntax is a course essential for students in the BS in Computer Science and Linguistics major, and a selective for students in Linguistics Minor. The course provides an introduction to the hidden nature of even simple sentences using a scientific approach to data analysis. We’ll also make connections to other areas of linguistics and human cognition more generally, and we’ll touch on some real world applications of syntactic analysis.
