Are you someone who is interested in the way language works and enjoy learning computation and programming languages? If so, then the BS in Computer Science andLinguistics at UIC might be for you! In the Computer Science + Linguistics program, you will explore topics like language analysis, language in society, human-machine interaction, natural language processing, language technology, statistics for language research, AI and Large Language Models, and more!

There are many different ways to explore linguistics and many different facets to our department. You can pursue an interdisciplinary BS in Computer Science and Linguistics and general education courses in linguistics.

The linguistics side of the coursework also aligns with the BA in Linguistics and the Minor in Linguistics with a focus on general linguistics and applied linguistic. Students have the flexibility to mold their interests and career aspirations.
