KOR 130 – Elementary Korean I
On Campus. TR 10:00-10:50. Instructor: Dr. Hanae Kim
This is an introductory course to Korean history, culture, and society. This course will enhance students’ understanding of diverse themes, such as national division, struggles against colonialism and military dictatorship, modernization, lifestyles, values, and point of views of Koreans, etc. by reviewing relevant literature, newspaper articles, and contemporary Korean films and by engaging in the in-depth class discussion.
This course is taught in English and all films have English subtitles. No knowledge of Korean required.

These courses are taught in a hybrid format consisting of TR face-to-face class sessions and weekly online learning modules on Blackboard.
KOR 101 – Elementary Korean I
TR 10:00-10:50. Instructor: Dr. Hanae Kim
This is a hybrid course (mixed in-person and online mode) designed to develop the four language skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing in Korean. It covers the Korean alphabet, basic grammatical structures and vocabulary necessary for basic conversation, reading comprehension,
and writing sentences to help students build a solid foundation for further study in Korean language.
KOR 103 – Intermediate Korean I
TR 1:00-1:50. Instructor: Dr. Hanae Kim
This is a hybrid course (mixed in-person and online mode) designed to develop the four language skills, speaking, listening, reading and writing in Korean. It covers the basic grammatical structures and vocabulary necessary for intermediate-low conversation, reading comprehension, and writing sentences to help the students build a solid foundation for further study in Korean language.
Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in KOR 102; or placement.
